Robert Watts Short Biography

One of the brightest new talents in aviation art, Robert Watts has been painting aircraft since 1966 when he was lead illustrator at the Ryan Aeronautical Company. In 1971 he served as a combat artist in Vietnam for the U.S. Naval Art Program.

After many years illustrating aircraft and ships for leading manufacturing corporations, Robert turned his attentions to fine art painting. He immediately carried off the Best of Show awards two years running with his first entries in the American Society of Aviation Artists juried exhibitions in 1992 and 1993.
